AKHANDA SWATHANTHRYA GATHA(non stop music on independance day)
Akhanda swathanthrya gatha founded on 15th august 2002 celebrated 7th yearon 15th august 2009. This year this nonstop music event was inaugurated by cine music director sanjeevbabu .Children from different schools around trivandrum sung patriotic songs and a lot of people took part in the continuous singing programme which lasted until evening. Sangam kala group president Dr.velayudhan,Corporation councellor shri.Maheswaran nair and Architect Sankar were also present on the occasion.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The YMCA School of Music under the aegis of YMCA Swaranjali, Thiruvananthapuram was inaugurated on Monday. K.P. Udayabhanu, Soorya Krishnamoorthy and Ramesh Narayanan jointly inaugurated the school.
Udayabhanu, who has won the Padmasree award, was honoured at the function, which was inaugurated by Soorya Krishnamoorthy. YMCA vice- president Johnson J. Edayaranmula presided over.
Swaranjali president P.R. Sukumaran, secretary T.N. Sreekumaran Thampi, music director Sanjeev Babu, keyboard master Jayahari, YMCA general secretary Thomas Abraham and others attended.
